Why do Teens and their Parents love our class?

It is more challenging than ever to be a teenager in United Kingdom . Fear and distractions seem to be at an all-time high, and our media-savvy kids are well aware of it.

Our program strives to provide our teens with the self-confidence and focus they need to make it in today's world. Fighting Lions Black Belt Academy is a safe and positive environment, providing a fun activity-driven atmosphere where those with common interests can join together in physically rewarding and mentally challenging activities.

Teens also develop positive character traits such as perseverance, goal-setting, honour and discipline. They find that our Kung fu program is high energy, exciting, and motivating. Students will enjoy the workout as well as the life long friendships that are built exercising and training with people who have similar goals.

What is Kung Fu?

Kung Fu (also known as Wu Shu) is the style of martial arts displayed in movies by Jet Li, and Jackie Chan, and in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. Rather than utilizing brute force and abrupt movements, Kung Fu techniques are graceful and precise. Kung Fu also incorporates stunning aerial and tumbling techniques, and an array of traditional weapons such as the powerful staff and the elegant straight sword.

Through our martial arts program, you will realize increased strength and flexibility, stronger bones and joints, increased stamina and energy, better coordination and balance, and weight loss. You will learn skills and techniques which will protect you if and when you need to defend yourself physically, mentally, or emotionally. You will have the opportunity to learn not only hand-to-hand martial arts, but also how to use a wide array of different martial arts weapons. And of course, you'll have great FUN!

Can I Do It?

Anybody can do it! Our classes include people of all backgrounds. Regardless of your size, fitness, or experience, you will be able to learn martial arts here. Because Kung Fu relies on technique rather than brute strength, both women and men can excel, and most classes are typically 50% male and 50% female.
